Bixby Republicans get Active
Bixby Republican Club chief, Mike Ford sent an email about getting more active in local elections and being more proactive in holding officials accountable for their actions. He relayed two instances of liberal activism in the Bixby Public School that he wanted everyone to be aware of:
1. Bixby High School History/Government teacher has apparently refused to have an American Flag in his class. What kind of message does that send to the students? What political values does he really teach if he doesn't have a flag in his classroom? He does think it is a good prop to have a George Bush Voodoo Doll on his desk. Maybe he teaches the religious values of witchcraft along with Government and History. Would you want your child in his class?
2. A Science teacher, last year, made her students watch Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth" which has been found to be full of lies and political indoctrination. Is this teacher following her own agenda or was this a simple mistake. Who picks these movies and makes the kids watch them. This movie has been widely publicized by the left and much of it has been found to be false and politically self serving for liberals. It makes me wonder why the school has a copy of it in the first place.
The Bixby Republicans believe it is time to get active in school district elections, judges elections and basically anything that does not uphold Christian, Constitutional and Republican beliefs.
Following up, I understand that the voodoo doll has been removed and it is very possible some local Retired/Ex Marines may donate a flag just in case the teacher was just not able to find one on his own. I would be happy to teach them about the Pledge of Allegiance but this teacher must not think this is significant in a History or Government class.
Mike Ford says: “It's our kids, our town, our future for our nation. Time for all of us to do our part. We can and we will.”
What about your school. Do you know what your kids are being taught? It is your duty as a parent to know what they are being taught and do something about it if you don't approve. Visit the school. Do you approve of what the kids are wearing? Do you see anything you approve of or don't approve of on the walls in the classrooms? Are the kids respectful of adults? It may not take long for you to form and opinion of how the school is run. Go to a School Board meeting. Consider running for school board member. You may find quiet a bit of support from your local Republican organization.
